“Turkey has not respected the United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions regarding the occupation of Cyprus. The UN has passed several resolutions calling for the withdrawal of Turkish troops from the northern part of the island and the restoration of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus, and Turkey has not complied with these resolutions. To the best of my knowledge, Turkey has not fulfilled its obligations under these UN resolutions with regards to its military presence in northern Cyprus and its policy of settlement and colonization of the territory.”
